This picture was totally unprompted, he said he was telling Santa what Alan wants for Christmas :)

Santa
The boys got to see Santa on Saturday at our church dinner. They were super excited and I was SHOCKED that Alan sat with no tears.

Picture Update
So yeah I didn't make it on the Thankful posts. Oh well, almost on to a new month :)
I have a few pictures from our quiet Thanksgiving I wanted to share and also some outtake shots from pictures of the boys for Christmas items.
We had a nice a relaxing Thanksgiving. Evan had to work from 12-8 so we went out and met some friends for breakfast and then came home in time for Evan to had out for work. The boys and I decided to put up our Christmas decorations in the house and we feasted on our Favorite Chips and Dip :) It was great! I love this time of year. John loves all Holidays and Alan is really excited about Christmas this year. He loved everything I would take out of the boxes to put up :) I can't wait until Christmas morning!!
So enough babble here are my cuties!

Best Money I've ever spent, especially since I got it super cheap last year. Thomas Christmas set with lights and music. Alan plays with it everyday.
Christmas Outtakes. I actually got some great pictures of them, but these are some that didn't make the cut.

Catch-Up
Here is my Catch-Up for the week :)
Let's see what can I share from our week that would be of any excitement haha......
I'll start with my Thankful #4
I am thankful for the Sabbath Day. A day that I can attend my Church Meeting and fill refilled for the week. Thankful for a day to relax with my family and enjoy one another without distractions.
Monday we had our Family Home Evening and did our lesson on the Office of President and what the election was. We had of course discussed it before but We began by Reading Article of Faith #12 and we then went over all of the previous presidents and why voting was important. John loved it and I was suprised at how much he remember from what we read on the previous presidents.
This leads me to my Thankful #5
I am thankful for John. He is such an amazing boy, So loving. I am so glad that I get to be his Momma and receive the love that he gives. He is also a great example to me. And I love that he BEGS us to have family home evening each week and reminds me of what is important in life!
Tuesday John was out of school which was nice because it was also Evan's day off so we had planned to do something fun as a family. Well the weather was not nice and we were all tired so we ended up snuggling up together and watching movies and eating homemade cookies we made together. It was still fun but not what we had planned :)
Thankful #6
I am thankful To live in The United States of America. Where we have the right to vote and for our freedom of speech.
Wednesday was just good ole' wednesday what can I say, Hump day :) I was happy to get a run in.
Thankful #7
I am thankful for Music - for the emotions it can bring. Joy, reverance, sadness, hope.....I love that for me, music can reach right into my Soul!
Thursday was a beautiful day the boys and I spent a lot of time outside after school playing with bubbles and riding bikes. John was SUPER excited that he won the Box Top Contest at school and earned a Gift Certificate to Target :) He also went over 100 sight words at school and earned a book. He was super excited and we are so proud of him. It is so neat to watch him learning to read!!
Thankful #8
Going along with the day I am thankful for BOOKS! I LOVE reading and I love that John does as well. Over the last few months we have really bonded even more with reading together. We are currently reading Trumpet of the Swan and LOVE it!!
Friday, YAY FRIDAY! John finished out a great week at school and Alan and I had a great week together! Evan and I were happy. We had a much needed Date night and Love that the boys are excited for us to go and for Elise the babysitter to arrive. And then we had extra excitement while on our date when we got to hear where our Nephew is heading on his mission!! Brazil get ready for an awesome man!
Thankful #9
I am thankful For Missionaries! I am very thankful for LDS missionaries! It is not easy to pack up and leave all that you know for 2 years and serve others. I am thankful that through missionaries I joined the church and that it is something that blesses my life daily. I am also thankful for missionaries of other churches who also leave the comfort of their homes/lives to go out and serve those in need. You are all amazing examples to me and my family!
Saturday - and finally here we are. Sorry for a long drawn out post :)
Thankful #10
For my Family's Health. We have had some minor colds over the last 2 weeks but I am thankful that overall we are all healthy and strong and able to enjoy the blessings of our bodies!

Thankful #3
Thankful #3
Today I am thankful for my Saturday Afternoon Run! Yes it is still morning and I am just thankful knowing it's a few hours away HA. Every Saturday Afternoon right after Evan gets home from work I get to head out for a run. I usually run at least 2 other days of the week but Saturday is my favorite because I get to go in the afternoon. I HATE morning runs and look forward to running in the Sun on Saturday. Plus Saturday is my day that I work on my distance. I'm trying to build back up to at least 6 miles (from before John was born). Last week I made it 3.5 and this week my goal is 4 :) I am thankful for my Hubby (although I'm sure he'll get his own day this month) for watching the boys while I head out and always encouraging me to hit the pavement. It's nice to be lost in my mind and have music in my hears and to be alone for a little while, No worries of filling the needs of others just a time to fill only MY need. I am thankful for a body that is healthy and allows these runs to be possible. Ahhhh now I'm really ready to head out, is it 2:00 yet? :)
Happy Saturday Everyone, Don't forget to Fall back tonight ; )

Thankful #2
My Thankful #2
Today I am Thankful For our home. My boys have been feeling a little under the weather this week and today John is home sick from school and it has made me Thankful for a home to keep us warm and comfortable. A place to snuggle in and to create memories in. I had a thought of the pioneers this morning and what it would have been like to live in a time when your home wasn't always comfortable or warm or you were traveling in a wagon cart or on foot and when your children were sick you did the best you could to care for them and prayed that it was nothing serious.
I am thankful for all of it, the house itself, my kitchen with all it's amazing appliances, the bathrooms with wonderful hot water and of course as I type the computer and tv. I could survive without all of it but it sure is nice to have it all.

Thankful Month
So I have seen friends on Facebook do this in the past and I thought I would try my best this year. I will try to write something I am thankful for each day at least until Thanksgiving if not the end of the month. I may not post everyday but I will make sure to put my list up when I do.
Thankful #1
I figured this best place to start is where I got my start. I am thankful for my Parents!
They are both amazing. I am thankful that I have ALWAYS felt their love, even as a teenager when I know they wanted to sell me to the gypsies (inside joke there). Thanks for teaching me what is important in this life and showing me a great example. I know that I can call my mom 10 times in a day and she never gets annoyed and that my dad would drop anything at the drop of a hat to come to the rescue. Love you guys!

Halloween!
We had a GREAT Halloween yesterday! The boys were so excited to wear their costumes I thought they were going to beg to sleep in them :)
We had our traditional Pizza for dinner and then headed out with a neighbor for Trick or Treating. Alan learned really quick to look for porch lights. Alan had been feeling a little under the weather so I wasn't sure how he would do on the walking and with the cool air but he hung in there longer than I expected. Then He and I came home to pass out candy while John continued on with his friend and her father.
John was Darth Maul from Star Wars and Alan was Venom (really black spiderman according to the costume but sshh don't tell him that).
Here are some pics.
Alan with John's mask, he couldn't decide which was cooler I never got a shot with his own mask on because he didn't like the eyes on it.

Our Week
It's been a busy week in the Majoros house, but a fun one :)
I've been busy doing last minute stuff for our Primary Program at Church (that's our program that the kids put on). So excited to have our first full practice on Sunday :)
The boys have been busy with this:
John had their Just say No to Drugs week at school. It was fun, they had a different theme each day that the kids could do. He LOVED superhero day, he wore his Justice league shirt (which shocked me, I figured he would wear avengers) along with his green lantern mask and ring. Then on Thursday they had a Vocabulary Parade. After going through lists of words and going back and forth between two words he chose, Headstrong. Which fits him perfectly :) Here are the hat and shirt he came up with:

We've been doing other things as well. Mostly regular things around here cleaning, riding bikes, playing with chalk, homework, getting ready for our Trunk or Treat, etc......
We did a Halloween Family home evening/day this week. In the afternoon the boys and I did a candy corn cut out and then after dinner we had ice cream sandwiches with orange sprinkles and watched Scared Shrekless. I love this time of year! Here are a few pics of their craft time:
Well that's about all I have time for this week. I wrote out a things to do list for today and it's longer than expected HAHA. I need to get started on my apples for my dessert for the Trunk or Treat :)
Tonight BOTH boys are going to be Iron Man. Which was not the orginal plan, but I realized that John's costume would look silly without his mask so I suprised him with an Iron Man costume (I really got it for Christmas but Oh well) and luckily I had gotten one for Alan as well because once he saw John's he was begging for one. I have my camera charging so in the next few days I'll have the pictures from tonight. Plus I'll have their orginal costumes on Halloween Night! Yay for Trick or Treat!

where is time going?
I swear it really seems like the days are flying by!
I was sitting outside watching Alan play the other day and was laughing at his recent favorite entertainment in the backyard, digging! It made my giggle because it made me think of John and how it is so neat to watch Alan go through a lot of the same phases as John. They are SO different, yet they are so alike :) John had a period of time where if we went out back a shovel was always near and he was always digging small holes around the yard and under one tree. Well now Alan is following the tradition. His only spin is that he like to dig and put the clay/dirt/straw/anything on the ground, into a bowl or dump truck and make "something" out of it. I just love watching boys in the dirt.
Here is Alan out in the yard (oh he is also in love with wearing a helmet at random times), not the best quality either since they are phone pics....
Totally random here but I am LOVING the current weather. We have been getting outside every afternoon, especially since John now Always wants to practice on his bike. It is just too nice out to say no. I finally started putting some "fall" stuff out front, I've had it up in the house for a few weeks. John was so happy that I finally bought pumpkins. He is dying to carve them. I think I need to go buy some others for carving though so we can keep these for decoration.
And to update, John was thrilled with the Halloween Costume that I picked for him. He is now counting down the days to Halloween so that he can wear it. I'll be sure to post pictures when they wear them :)
Okay a few last random pictures from the last 2 weeks

Bicycle!
I can't believe it, 2 posts in one day! No not that really, I can't believe my guy is riding his bike WITHOUT training wheels!! It all started yesterday and he is doing great! He is still hesitant but getting better each time he rides. I am so proud of my guy, he was really frustrated trying to figure it out at first and he almost gave up, but after a breather he tried again and got a little better and the rest is history :) We promised grandma a video so here you go! Man time is flying! (oh and excuse my loud voice and the zooming in the video hehe)
John's 6th Birthday!
Yes His Birthday was last month, but since I'm playing catch-up here ya go :)
This year we had a VERY laid back birthday. Last year he got to have a big bowling party so we agreed this year to no real "party". My parents came in town for the weekend so he did at least have company here :) Of course our AMAZING family sent him gifts which he was DYING to open the second he woke up. So thanks to my mom we came up with the idea of putting numbers on each of the presents and then he had to draw a number out of a bag to open the present with the matching number and he could only draw a number when grandma's alarm went off (about every 1-2 hours). He LOVED it. Plus he got to have the one thing he begged for, an ice cream cake! So instead of just words here are some pictures from the day.

Field Trip Friday!
Today is John's first field trip!! I am so excited to watch my little man grow up. I am also bummed that I couldn't go along :( They had a rule for this trip that no children other than students could attend which meant Alan couldn't tag along and Evan had to work this morning. So I am now waiting for 2:45 to get here so that I can hear ALLLL about it. He was so excited this morning, especially since he was getting a lunchable for lunch HAHA. I always pack his lunch but it's something homemade, but since everything had to be able to be thrown away I decided to suprise him with a Lunchable and he was super happy :) oh the small things in life!
I am also excited to for him to get home since Alan and I went to Target this morning and purchased Halloween Costumes. They didn't have the costume John wanted in his size so I maybe a choice for him and I'm dying to see if he is excited for it, or if I need to go on a major hunt for the original choice. Alan picked the costume John wanted which they only had in his size, so hopefully big brother won't be upset that Alan was able to get it.
Yesterday I was having a ruff day and it's so nice today to feel much better. I think I just need to get up, put on a cute outfit (well at least I think it is), put on some make-up and get out of the house. Oh I bought a new skirt and shoes too so that always helps :) Plus I am soooo happy it is FRIDAY! I get my boys to myself all weekend and I Maybe, I repeat Maybe, get to sleep a little later for 2 days. It's general conference for Church this weekend so I get a little break there as well. I'm dreaming of a weekend filled with lots of outside playing and snuggles on the couch and hearing my boys play together! I hope you all have a great weekend!
Here is another more recent shot of the boys, this is from when we went to TN over the summer.

Trying, Again!
Yep, I'm actually typing an update! I've been thinking alot of how much I LOVE reading my friends blogs to keep up with their families and the things that are happening with them. I find myself smiling and being motivated or crying and praying for my friends in their times of need. Basically stalking their blogs for updates hehe. And I thought about how much joy my own memories bring me and how bad I have been lately at journaling them. So, here I am once again with the goal of blogging my joys, tears, thankfulness, failures and anything else that comes along to savor with my family forever.
Just seeing my last post I can't believe how much my family has changed in the last year! Alan looks so small in the pictures! John is now 6 and in Kindergarten!! He LOVES it, although it took about a week for that to happen. The first few days were hard for me to leave him especially when he would say, Momma I miss you so much it makes me want to cry! But he did it and now is so excited to go. Alan is 3 and he loves his big brother more than anything else. He tries to be just like him. And he misses John all day. After more than a month he still asks 3 or 4 times a day if it's time to go to the bus stop yet. My boys bring me so much Joy. I couldn't imagine a minute of my day without them. They have made me grow and change in so many ways.
