Thankful #2

My Thankful #2

Today I am Thankful For our home.  My boys have been feeling a little under the weather this week and today John is home sick from school and it has made me Thankful for a home to keep us warm and comfortable. A place to snuggle in and to create memories in. I had a thought of  the pioneers this morning and what it would have been like to live in a time when your home wasn't always comfortable or warm or you were traveling in a wagon cart or on foot and when your children were sick you did the best you could to care for them and prayed that it was nothing serious.

I am thankful for all of it, the house itself, my kitchen with all it's amazing appliances, the bathrooms with wonderful hot water and of course as I type the computer and tv.  I could survive without all of it but it sure is nice to have it all.

Thankful Month

So I have seen friends on Facebook do this in the past and I thought I would try my best this year. I will try to write something I am thankful for each day at least until Thanksgiving if not the end of the month. I may not post everyday but I will make sure to put my list up when I do.

Thankful #1

I figured this best place to start is where I got my start. I am thankful for my Parents!
They are both amazing. I am thankful that I have ALWAYS felt their love, even as a teenager when I know they wanted to sell me to the gypsies (inside joke there). Thanks for teaching me what is important in this life and showing me a great example. I know that I can call my mom 10 times in a day and she never gets annoyed and that my dad would drop anything at the drop of a hat to come to the rescue. Love you guys!

Halloween!

We had a GREAT Halloween yesterday! The boys were so excited to wear their costumes I thought they were going to beg to sleep in them :)

We had our traditional Pizza for dinner and then headed out with a neighbor for Trick or Treating. Alan learned really quick to look for porch lights. Alan had been feeling a little under the weather so I wasn't sure how he would do on the walking and with the cool air but he hung in there longer than I expected. Then He and I came home to pass out candy while John continued on with his friend and her father.

John was Darth Maul from Star Wars and Alan was Venom (really black spiderman according to the costume but sshh don't tell him that).

Here are some pics.

Alan with John's mask, he couldn't decide which was cooler I never got a shot with his own mask on because he didn't like the eyes on it.

Alan showing me his muscles

John aka Darth Maul

Totally in Love with these guys

So happy to have a double lightsaber

Their favorite spot, watching for more trick or treaters

We are ready :)

My favorite new outdoor decoration that goes over your light, can't wait to put my snowman one up now :)

Our Week

It's been a busy week in the Majoros house, but a fun one :)

I've been busy doing last minute stuff for our Primary Program at Church (that's our program that the kids put on). So excited to have our first full practice on Sunday :)

The boys have been busy with this:

John had their Just say No to Drugs week at school. It was fun, they had a different theme each day that the kids could do. He LOVED superhero day, he wore his Justice league shirt (which shocked me, I figured he would wear avengers) along with his green lantern mask and ring. Then on Thursday they had a Vocabulary Parade. After going through lists of words and going back and forth between two words he chose, Headstrong. Which fits him perfectly :) Here are the hat and shirt he came up with:

We've been doing other things as well. Mostly regular things around here cleaning, riding bikes, playing with chalk, homework, getting ready for our Trunk or Treat, etc......

We did a Halloween Family home evening/day this week. In the afternoon the boys and I did a candy corn cut out and then after dinner we had ice cream sandwiches with orange sprinkles and watched Scared Shrekless. I love this time of year! Here are a few pics of their craft time:

Well that's about all I have time for this week. I wrote out a things to do list for today and it's longer than expected HAHA. I need to get started on my apples for my dessert for the Trunk or Treat :)

Tonight BOTH boys are going to be Iron Man. Which was not the orginal plan, but I realized that John's costume would look silly without his mask so I suprised him with an Iron Man costume (I really got it for Christmas but Oh well) and luckily I had gotten one for Alan as well because once he saw John's he was begging for one. I have my camera charging so in the next few days I'll have the pictures from tonight. Plus I'll have their orginal costumes on Halloween Night! Yay for Trick or Treat!

where is time going?

I swear it really seems like the days are flying by!

I was sitting outside watching Alan play the other day and was laughing at his recent favorite entertainment in the backyard, digging! It made my giggle because it made me think of John and how it is so neat to watch Alan go through a lot of the same phases as John. They are SO different, yet they are so alike :) John had a period of time where if we went out back a shovel was always near and he was always digging small holes around the yard and under one tree. Well now Alan is following the tradition. His only spin is that he like to dig and put the clay/dirt/straw/anything on the ground, into a bowl or dump truck and make "something" out of it. I just love watching boys in the dirt.

Here is Alan out in the yard (oh he is also in love with wearing a helmet at random times), not the best quality either since they are phone pics....

Totally random here but I am LOVING the current weather. We have been getting outside every afternoon, especially since John now Always wants to practice on his bike. It is just too nice out to say no. I finally started putting some "fall" stuff out front, I've had it up in the house for a few weeks. John was so happy that I finally bought pumpkins. He is dying to carve them. I think I need to go buy some others for carving though so we can keep these for decoration.

And to update, John was thrilled with the Halloween Costume that I picked for him. He is now counting down the days to Halloween so that he can wear it. I'll be sure to post pictures when they wear them :)

Okay a few last random pictures from the last 2 weeks

Bicycle!

I can't believe it, 2 posts in one day! No not that really, I can't believe my guy is riding his bike WITHOUT training wheels!! It all started yesterday and he is doing great! He is still hesitant but getting better each time he rides. I am so proud of my guy, he was really frustrated trying to figure it out at first and he almost gave up, but after a breather he tried again and got a little better and the rest is history :) We promised grandma a video so here you go!  Man time is flying! (oh and excuse my loud voice and the zooming in the video hehe)

John's 6th Birthday!

Yes His Birthday was last month, but since I'm playing catch-up here ya go :)

This year we had a VERY laid back birthday. Last year he got to have a big bowling party so we agreed this year to no real "party". My parents came in town for the weekend so he did at least have company here :) Of course our AMAZING family sent him gifts which he was DYING to open the second he woke up. So thanks to my mom we came up with the idea of putting numbers on each of the presents and then he had to draw a number out of a bag to open the present with the matching number and he could only draw a number when grandma's alarm went off (about every 1-2 hours). He LOVED it. Plus he got to have the one thing he begged for, an ice cream cake! So instead of just words here are some pictures from the day.
